It's been awhile since we've posted, so I thought I would fill you in on what's going on.
First off, last Friday's show at Southgate House was awesome. It was a completely diverse bill with a decent turnout, and the crowd seemed to dig the diversity. The Sailing's brand of new age/prog/metal/indie/space rock was totally groovey and they sounded even better than I had remembered from the last time we played with them. Ashley Peacock and his band played a flawless set that was embarassing to follow (I mean that as a compliment, Ashley). Our set was slightly drunken (big surprise, eh?), and we kept the crowd smiling with dumb stage antics and even dumber jokes. Kenny became sufficiently pissed after we finished and several members of the crowd called us "punk rock." The New Hardwood Legends (who turned out to be a nine(?) piece Bluegrass band from Nashville) capped the night off with an even drunker set than ours, still managing to stay completely tight and play some infectious, danceable numbers.
Thanks to everyone who came out!
I talked to Jeff from Tri-State Productions the other day and he is just as excited to start recording as we are. The original plan was to record live in the TSP basement, but now the plan is to do it in the living room just outside of the studio. It's going to rock... so... very... hard... Hopefully, we'll have a single ready for the show on the 17th of August.
The Dreamers Club OST is still in the works, but Jason and I have had a hard time synching our schedules. Hopefully, we'll have it done in a month or so. It's totally different than what you're used to hearing from us. If you're interested in sampling what it'll be like, click the link for "Aaron's Song," which will appear on the soundtrack, retitled "Nothing Ever Changes."
We now have home-made T-shirts for sale, courtesy of PJ Star. Each shirt bares our logo and a catch phrase, but they are all unique and only cost 8 bucks. Thanks for all of your hard work, Crystal!
Additional merch should be available by the time of our August all-ages shows.
The next big rock show is at Sudsy Malones in Clifton, with Super 77, Patientzero, and Dr Jones. We'll be a four piece again for this one (Jason will be back mid-August), and we're expecting this to be a huge show.
Hope to see you there!
